Dr. Robert A. Summers founded Orchid Educational Enterprises in 1996 to provide custom laboratory trainers and parts kits exclusively for Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. The CircuitDesignPro Digital/Analog Trainer has been a favorite tool for students in the Computer & Electronics Engineering Technology department, one they use throughout their courses at WSU and into their professional careers.
In 2004, Dr. Summers and colleague, Dr. Gill Bearnson, overhauled the entry level electronics course at the university. They were unable to find a text that incorporated the necessary fundamental principles with a heavy hands-on emphasis. Together, they authored FUNDAMENTAL ELECTRONICS, a unique, complete package containing an original text on CD ROM, a Mini-lab Circuit Trainer, and all the parts and instructions for 14 lab activities. |
