Procedure Part 1:

In the first three steps of Part 1 we wind and attach the inductor coil.

Step 1:

• Hot glue one end of the #33 magnet wire to the soda straw.

Step 2:

• Wind approximately 200 turns of the magnet wire onto the soda straw in a neat, tightly wound layer. Be careful not to kink the wire or wind it too loosely. Leave about three inches of wire on the final end. To finalize the coil, run a bead of hot glue the length of the coil in several places.

 

 

Step 3:

• Use 220 to 400 grit sandpaper to sand off the surface enamel coating along one side of the coil. Be gentle, sanding from side to side until the shiny copper can be seen.
